Charge A Dell D820 Liion Battery

A Dell D820 Li-Ion battery is a rechargeable lithium ion battery that can be used in a Latitude D820 or D830 laptop. The battery can be used to power the laptop when it is not plugged into an electrical outlet. In order for the battery to power the laptop, it must be charged. Charging the battery is an easy process.

Instructions

1. Insert the Dell D820 Li-Ion battery into a Dell Latitude D820 or D830 battery. These are the only laptops that are compatible with this battery type. Slide the battery into the battery housing unit, with the battery contacts facing downward and entering the battery bay first.

2. Plug the AC power adapter into the outlet on the right-hand side of the Dell Latitude laptop. Insert the other end of the power adapter into a working electrical outlet.

3. Allow the battery to charge. While charging, the battery indicator light will flash or blink, indicating the battery is charging. The battery indicator light is located on the front, bottom portion of the laptop, under a battery icon. Once the battery is fully charged, the battery indicator light will stay on, displaying a solid light. This process can take four to six hours if the battery is fully drained. If you are using the laptop while the battery is charging, the process can take even longer.

4. Gently tug on the AC power adapter to remove it from the laptop.
