Troubleshoot A Zoom H2

The H2 connects to your computer via USB.


The Zoom H2 Handy Recorder is a versatile digital recorder that lets consumers record many different kinds of events in a mobile format. Functioning also as a USB microphone, the H2 uses SD cards to store and transport data from the recorder to your computer. As you use the device, you may run into issues that are above your immediate knowledge of the device. Troubleshooting your device is simple with the use of the H2's manual online.








Instructions


1. Go to the "Troubleshooting" section on page 88 of the manual on the Samson Technologies website to troubleshoot your device. Check the volume setting of the device or the connection and settings to your monitor system if your sound is weak or not present. Check your mic pattern, mic orientation, "Mic Gain" settings on the switch and recording level to remedy weak recorded sound.


2. Check to see if anything is connected to the "Line In" jack or the "Ext Mic In" jack if the built-in or an externally-connected mic is not working. Make sure your SD card is an inserted and the "Key Hold" option is not displayed to troubleshoot a device that will not record.


3. Check the connection was initiated from the H2 if your computer will not read the device. Make sure your computer's operating system is compatible with the H2 if nothing appears on the screen after connecting. Check all of your recording settings with the guide when becoming familiar with the device to avoid issues.
