Digital picture frame
Digital photo frames are excellent accessories, and they make great gifts as well. One of the best things about a digital photo frame is that the owner does not have to be particularly technologically sophisticated to use it, but it is important for the owner to know transfer photographs from his or her PC to the frame.
Instructions
1. Turn on your computer, and locate the photographs that you want to transfer to the digital frame. These files may be located anywhere on your computer, but a good place to start searching is the "My Pictures" and the "My Documents" folders. These two folders are the defaults for many photo-editing software packages. If you cannot find the files, click on "Start" and choose "Search" from the menu. Type "*.jpg" in the search box, and start the search. This will locate all of the jpeg image files on your computer.
2. Highlight the first photograph that you want to transfer to the digital photo frame, then hold the "Ctrl" key down and choose the next file. One "Ctrl" key is located on the lower left-hand side of the keyboard, and the other is located near the lower right-hand corner. Continue highlighting each file that you wish to transfer, holding the "Ctrl" key down and highlighting the next file until you have all the files that you want to display on your digital photo frame.
3. Right-click and choose "Copy" from the menu. Make sure you choose "Copy" and not "Cut." Choosing "Cut" will remove the files from your computer.
4. Insert a USB thumb drive into a free USB port on your computer. Wait a couple of seconds for the computer to recognize the drive, then highlight the drive in Windows Explorer and choose "Paste" from the menu. The files you selected will now be transferred to the thumb drive.
5. Insert the thumb drive into the USB port on your digital photo frame, then plug the frame into an electrical outlet and turn it on. Refer to the instructions that came with the frame to start the slide show. You should see the photographs that you downloaded from your computer begin to cycle through the display.
