Bored or annoyed with the default ringtones that came with your cell phone? You may want to consider making your own ringtones and then placing them on your cell phone. Creating your own ringtones allows you to decide which song or audio file plays when your phone receives a call. You can also save money by making your own ringtones since doing so is free. Use this website to create your own ringtones and then send them to your phone.

Directions

1. Click the "Make Your Own" link located on the right side of the Myxer.com homepage (see Resources below).

2. Find the song on your computer that you want to make into a ringtone. To do this, click the "Browse" tab. You will then be able to search for the song or other audio file you want to upload. Select the file and click "OK." After you have selected the file, click the "Customize" tab located beneath the "Browse" tab.

3. Customize your ringtone in the "Select a Section" part of the page. Move the box in the section to change where your ringtone begins and ends. Click the "Play" button next to the "Listen to this section" heading to preview the file.

4. Click on the "Volume" drop box to change the volume of the default setting of the ringtone.

5. Type your cell phone number in the "Phone Number" box at the bottom of the webpage. Click "Send to Phone" and you will receive the ringtone or a link (depending on your cell phone provider) in a text message. Open the text message to see which you have received. Users who received the ringtone in a text message will be able to save the ringtone to their phones. If you receive a link, you will have to open that link in your phone's Web browser. From there, scroll to the bottom of the Web page and click the "Download" link to download the ringtone to your cell phone.
