Unlock The Blackberry 8700c For Cingular

To unlock your BlackBerry 8700c so you can use it on AT&T Cingular network, you need the accurate unlock password. This password can be obtained from the network carrier if your carrier has such policy. For instance, T-Mobile gives the code free if you're a postpaid customer with an active service of more than 40 days, or a prepaid customer with active service of 60 days. If you don't qualify for a free code from the carrier, you can purchase the code from a third-party source that generates unlock passwords for cell phones.

Instructions

1. Call your current cellular network provider and ask for an unlock code. Give them your account number and name and the phone's IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number. You can find the IMEI by typing "*#06#" on your phone. Upon entering this code, a 15-digit number will appear on the screen, which will the phone's unique identity number. Your carrier will generate the unlock code based on this number.

2. Purchase the code if you have been unsuccessful at obtaining it from the carrier. GSM Liberty, Unlock it Now and Unlock All Cellular are among the few online unlock-code shops from which you can buy this code for about $9.99 to $15.99 as of 2010. You will have to provide them with the IMEI number and specify the carrier to which the phone is locked.

3. Go to the phone's "Settings" and select "Options."

4. Go to "Advanced Options" and select "SIM card."

5. Type "MEPD." The phone screen will then read, "Network active." Hold the "Alt" key and type "MEPE." The phone screen will then read, "Enter Network MEP Code."

6. Type the unlock password obtained from the code provider. Then press the jog dial to confirm. Your phone will then be unlocked.
