Troubleshoot A Stylus 770 Sw

Avid skiers, scuba divers and beachcombers need look no further. The Olympus Stylus 770 SW camera has been designed to be waterproof, drop proof, crush proof and freeze proof. This model comes with all of the usual digital camera features, but it has been made to go almost anywhere.

Instructions

1. Format a new memory card to your Olympus Stylus 770 SW camera. When using a non-Olympus memory card, the card must be formatted correctly to be used or you will receive a "Card Error" message. To format the card, press the "On/Off" button and select "O." Place the unformatted card into your camera. Then press "Format," "Yes," and "O." Formatting should be complete.

2. Replace your memory card if you receive a "Card Error" message and your card has been correctly formatted or you are using an Olympus memory card. If possible, attempt to download pictures from the card before removing it from your Olympus Stylus 770 SW camera.

3. Change the read only setting on your memory card if you receive a "Write Project" error on your Olympus camera. Prior to changing the read only setting, download all pictures on your memory card to your computer to avoid losing any photos. On the menu, select "Photo Options," and then change the the read only option setting.

4. Erase any unwanted pictures if you receive a "Memory Full" or "Card Full" error. This should give you a few more pictures before you need to download photos to your computer. Or replace the full memory card with an empty memory card. Download images from your Olympus camera as soon as you can to free up additional memory to store new pictures.

5. Take new pictures when your Olympus camera displays "No Picture." This message does not mean that you cannot take any more pictures. In fact, it means that no pictures are currently stored on your card, so your card has all of its memory available.

6. Use the picture processing software on your computer to examine photos with "Picture Error" messages. This error means that the picture file cannot be read on your camera, but you may be able to access it on your computer. Download the photo file to your computer. If it cannot be opened, then the image file has been damaged and the picture cannot be opened. Erase the damaged file from your camera and computer.

7. Print your pictures from other cameras on your computer or you will receive a "Cannot Print Error" Any photos taken with non-Olympus cameras cannot be printed using your Olympus camera.

8. Use only Olympus batteries, specifically LI-42B or LI-40B batteries, in your camera, or your camera may not function properly.

9. Conserve power and battery life on your camera. Using a depleted battery can make your Olympus Stylus 770 SW shut down without any warning that the battery has been drained. The battery will lose power rapidly if you 1) repeatedly use the zoom function; 2) continuously display a photo on the camera monitor; and 3) leave your Olympus camera connected to a computer.
