Change The Lamp On A Proxima 9250

The Proxima 9250 uses a power 150W lamp assembly (it's enclosed in its own case). This lamp gets very hot during use. Because of this, certain precautions must be taken when replacing its lamp, even though the procedure is relatively simple. When it's time to replace the 9250's lamp, the display light on the projector will turn orange. You can purchase a replacement lamp from several online retailers. Changing the lamp will take approximately 20 minutes (including the cooling-down period).

Instructions

1. Flip the power switch and let the projector cool down for about 15 minutes. The Proxima's lamp gets very hot; letting it cool down will prevent the bulb from burning your hands.

2. Unplug the power cable adapter from the rear of the projector (not from the wall outlet). Remove the Phillips screw from the small panel on the side; this is the bulb access door. After the screw is removed, open the door.

3. Remove the two Phillips screws that secure the lamp assembly. When the screws are out, carefully grasp the assembly and pull it out.

4. Insert the replacement lamp assembly. Tighten the two Phillips screws to secure it, then close the access door and tighten the screw. Reconnect the power cable adapter and turn on the projector.

5. Press the "Menu" button on the control panel to begin resetting the lamp life monitor. Press the "Left" or "Right" arrow buttons to display "Settings." Press "Select" to enter the "Settings" menu.

6. Press the "Down" button to display "Lamp Age," and then press "Select." Press the "Right" arrow to select "Yes" (the display will show "Reset Lamp Age"). Press "Select" to reset the lamp life monitor.
