Transfer A Video From A Camera To A Psp

If you have a video recorded on a digital camera, you may wish to transfer it for viewing on your PSP. Although both devices have USB connections, transferring a file from the camera to the PSP is not as simple as plugging them together. You need to use your computer as a middleman, as the recorded video must be converted to a PSP-compatible format first. Once the video is transferred to the computer and converted, you can transfer it to the PSP.

Instructions

1. Plug the video camera into your computer. Open the Video Wizard program in the Windows Vista operating system. Create a new folder in the program and then open that folder.

2. Import the video from the camera to the folder. Select the video format "Audio Video interleave" to create an AVI file. Click "Next" and then "Import the entire videotape to my computer."

3. Download and install on your computer PSP Movie Creator or a similar program that converts other video files to PSP formats.

4. Open the new software program. Click on the program's "Open" button and select the "Open video file" option to load your AVI file. Use the drop-down search window to find the file's location on your computer.

5. Select the format to convert the AVI file to (if using a converter program and not PSP Movie Creator). Highlight your AVI file in the display window and go to the "Profile" selection. In the drop-down list of available formats, choose a format that mentions "PSP."

6. Select an output destination within your computer that the converted file will be saved. The "Output file/location" option to select this destination in is usually within the same "Open" menu that "Open video file" is in.

7. Click on the "Record, "Convert," "OK" or related button and wait for the program to record the file in PSP-related format.

8. Locate the saved MP4 file on your computer. Connect your PSP to the computer using a USB cable and look for the PSP's memory stick to appear within the computer's list of hard drive. Bring up the folder your converted video file is in and drag the file into your personal video folder on the memory stick.
