Wireless keyboards are becoming much more commonplace.

The age of the home phone quickly evolved into the age of cellular phones. Now, the same kinds of wireless technologies are being utilized by computer hardware companies to make wireless mice and keyboards. It's a cinch to install a wireless keyboard for your computer. Do you have a wireless keyboard laying around gathering dust because you were intimidated by the installation process? Well, here's easily and quickly install a wireless keyboard for you computer.

Instructions

1. Remove the wireless keyboard from its packaging and read the instructions. Even though this might seem redundant, it's a good idea to read the instructions through quickly just to get an idea for what the installation process entails and to make sure that your computer meets all of the wireless keyboard's system requirements.

2. Leave your current wired keyboard plugged into the computer. Many computers will cease to function if their keyboard is removed.

3. Make sure that the computer is on and is functioning properly.

4. Plug the USB wireless adapter of the wireless keyboard into a USB port on your computer. If you don't have a USB port, then your computer is probably too old and likely won't support a wireless keyboard.

5. Make sure that there are batteries in your wireless keyboard. Oftentimes, the consumer is responsible for putting the batteries in, and they don't come with the keyboard when it's purchased.

6. Turn the power on for your wireless keyboard. The method of doing this varies depending on the model you've purchased, but the power switch/button is generally located on the bottom of the wireless keyboard.

7. Wait for the keyboard to download it's driver software. If you don't have a connection to the Internet, use the software that was included with your wireless keyboard to install the driver manually.

8. Use the wireless keyboard exactly as you would a wired keyboard.
