Charge A Pentax W60

The PENTAX Optio W60 digital camera uses a lithium-ion model D-LI78 rechargeable battery for power. To charge the camera after the battery icon on the LCD screen turns yellow or red, you must remove the battery from its battery compartment within the camera and charge it in the PENTAX D-BC78 battery charger plugged into an electrical socket with an AC adapter from the PENTAX K-BC78 kit. Once the battery has fully charged and the D-BC78 charger "charging indicator" light turns off, you can reinsert the battery in your camera and start taking pictures again.

Instructions

1. Turn off your PENTAX W60 digital camera. Turn the camera over so that the LCD faces you.

2. Flip up the camera so that you can see the bottom. Push down on the lock lever on the "battery/card/terminal" cover located on the left side of the camera bottom.

3. Place your thumb on the cover, slide the cover to the left and pull it open.

4. Press the lock lever to the right. If the camera is functioning correctly, the battery should pop out. Pull the battery out of the battery compartment slot.

5. Plug the AC adapter into the battery charger, then plug the charger into an electrical socket. Slide your battery into the battery slot on the front of the charger until the "charging indicator" light, also on the front, turns on. Wait up to 150 minutes for the battery to fully charge and the light to turn off.

6. Remove the battery from the charger, and unplug the charger from the electrical socket. Press the cover lock lever right, and reinsert the battery into the battery compartment until you feel it lock in place. Close the cover, and slide it right to lock it in place.
