Operate A Cyber Shot Camera Dscp73

A Cybershot DSC-P73 is a compact digital camera with automatic focus and good zooming capability. The Cybershot DSC-P73 camera is made mostly for taking still photographs, but it also has the ability to capture video footage complete with audio. With its small size and long-range zoom, the Cybershot DSC-P73 is an ideal camera to take to concerts, carry with you on vacation or have on hand for a day at the zoo.

Instructions

1. Insert the memory stick. The memory stick slot is located next to the batteries in the battery compartment. You will need a memory stick for recording still images and video on the DSC-P73.

2. Power the camera on. The power button is located just to the left of the dial on the top of the camera. Press it once and the LCD screen should come on.

3. Turn the mode dial to the camera symbol to take a picture. The mode dial is on the right side on the top of the DSC-P73. Look through the viewfinder and line the subject of your photograph up. To capture the photograph, press the shutter button down completely. The shutter button is the button right in the middle of the mode dial.

4. Turn the mode dial to the film strip symbol to shoot video. Press the shutter button down completely to start recording. "REC" will show on the LCD screen to let you know that recording is in progress. Press the button again to stop recording.

5. View images or video on the LCD screen. Turn the mode dial to the play symbol, which appears as an arrow inside a box. Use the arrow pad on the back of the camera to scroll through the images. Press the button with the circle on it in the middle of the arrow pad to start playback. The DSC-P73 has a speaker for playing back sound along with the video.

6. View images or video on your computer. Sony computers usually have a slot for a memory stick. If your computer has a memory stick slot, insert the memory stick and wait for your computer to recognize the new hardware. A pop-up screen will give you the option to "Open folder to view files." Click this option, and your memory stick will open, displaying both your photographs and videos. If your computer does not have a memory stick slot, you can leave your memory stick in your camera and attach the camera to your computer with the supplied USB cord that came with your DSC-P73. Turn the camera on and set the mode dial to the play symbol. The computer should automatically recognize the camera and allow you to "Open folder to view files."
