Convert Video To Your Android Phone

Convert Video to Your Android Phone

As phones improve, they become capable of more and more. Devices like the Droid have a nearly limitless capacity for expansion and have become incredibly popular on the cell phone market. The Droid, as many other devices, runs off Google's Android platform. If you wish to watch video on such a device, you will have to prepare your video files so they match the file format and resolution stipulations of the Android platform.

Instructions

1. Download and install Handbrake on your computer from http://www.handbrake.fr/downloads.php/

2. Open your video file in Handbrake. Under "Output settings" click the drop-down menu next to "Format" and choose "MP4 file." Click the drop-down menu next to video codec and choose "H.264."

3. Click "Picture Settings" in the toolbar. When the picture settings window opens click the drop-down menu next to "anamorphic" and choose "Loose." Next to the "Width" option, click the down arrow until the width value is at 480. This will match the Android's default resolution.

4. Click the "Target size" option next to the "Quality" section of the Handbrake window. Set this to the desired file size. This value will most likely be determined by the amount of storage that your Android device has.

5. Click "Start" in the toolbar and wait as Handbrake converts your video.
