The Canon 20D is a professional-level DSLR camera. It offers the benefits of digital photography, such as instant photo review, and advanced features such as interchangeable lenses. One of its features, an electrical hot shoe contact, allows it to be used with external devices. While it does not have a dedicated strobe connect, wireless remote triggers can be used to activate studio strobes. Using studio flashes while shooting can add that "professional" look to photos.
Instructions
1. Turn off the camera and remote triggers. Slide one trigger into the hot shoe of the camera by aligning the pins of the trigger wit the metal contacts on the camera.
2. Connect the second trigger to the studio flash using the included connection cable.
3. Set both triggers to the same wireless channel by using the switches on the front. Then set the transmitting/receiving mode to "both" by pushing the corresponding switch.
4. Turn on both triggers. Then turn on the camera and studio flash. Test the setup by pressing the "Test" button on the camera trigger.
5. Set up your composition and take a photo to activate the triggers, which will fire the flash.
6. Connect other triggers to additional studio strobes and set them to the same wireless channels to use more flashes.
