One of the most popular memory systems for cell phones and MP3 players is the SD MMC memory card. This tiny brand of memory card can hold up to 4 GB of memory and can be carried inside of your pocket or inside of your electronic device. Often these memory cards are specific to certain requirements and must be researched before you purchase one for your device.
Instructions
1. Visit a retailer or online retailer like Best Buy or Amazon and enter "SD MMC memory cards" into the search field to look for products. Click "Price" or "Rating" to view these products by different criteria.
2. Decide how much memory you want for your device and what your price range is. These memory cards can range from 100s of MB of memory to as much as 4 GB of memory. They can range in price from around $5 to as much as $30.
3. Check the compatibility of the memory card that you are considering buying. These details can often be found in sections titled "Technical Details" or "Product Details." While iPods are compatible with any type of MMC memory card, other lower-budget MP3 players may not be, such as the Ematic and many car audio MP3 players.
4. Find out whether the Secure Digital High Capacity technology of the product matches your device (which can be found in the product description on your device manual). These numbers can usually be found within the first few lines of the product description, and are often listed as simply "SD." Newer versions of these memory cards run with SD 2.0 specifications, and will not run on older devices. Newer devices, however, can be used with older memory cards, such as SD 1.0 specifications.
5. Read customer reviews to find out whether there are glitches of this product, or whether it is completely compatible with your product. Often these reviews will describe the flaws that are associated with these products and certain brands.
