Troubleshoot A Polaroid 37 Inch Lcd Television

Video inputs may need to be toggled via the remote in order to correct audio and video issues with the Polaroid TV.

There are a number of common problems that can ail a Polaroid LCD television. None of these problems require a special expertise to troubleshoot and solve, however, so the assistance of a professional television repairman should not be required. With only a large magnetic coil as a special tool, you can troubleshoot the cable connections, video input settings and more on your Polaroid LCD television successfully and without dumping money into expensive repairs or a new set.

Instructions

1. Check the power cable for your Polaroid LCD television. Ensure this cable has not become disconnected. A simple cable error such as this can often be the source of your consternation.

2. Look at your Polaroid LCD television's display. Is there any distortion in the way of moving white and gray dots across the screen? This can be corrected by making adjustments to the coaxial cable, which plugs into the "ANT IN" slot on the back of the Polaroid LCD television. Ensure that this cable is tight within the port and in no way loose.

3. Check your Polaroid LCD television's A/V cable connections if you are not receiving audio, or have sound but are not receiving any picture. In this event, it is likely that your A/V cable connections got switched up. The A/V cable has one set of prongs at each of its ends, with each set comprised of one yellow, one red and one white prong. Look at the back of your Polaroid LCD television and the back of your satellite or cable box. There will be color-corresponding A/V ports here (yellow, red and white in color). Make sure the prongs are matched with their correct ports.

4. Examine your video input situation if your cables appear to be correctly plugged in but your Polaroid LCD television has a dark, soundless screen. You may have the wrong video input selected. Use the dedicated "Video Input" button on the top left of your remote to toggle through your available inputs. You should be able to locate the input that has been assigned to your cable/satellite programming, which will restore picture and sound to your Polaroid LCD television.

5. Check the front of your Polaroid LCD television for any irregular blotches on the display. The appearance of such blotches represents a magnetization problem with your TV set. Magnetization occurs when another electronic device has been left on or near the TV for too long. Remove this device. Then, use a magnetic coil and wave it in large loops in front of your display. This will demagnetize the screen and serve to remove the blotches.
