Adjust The Exposure On A Camcorder

Exposure refers to the amount of light that is allowed into the camcorder, or the amount of light that the imaging sensors and devices are exposed to. The image enters the camcorder and is recorded. Too much exposure, however, can create undesirable recordings that are either too dark or too bright. Here's adjust the exposure on a camcorder.

Instructions

1. Turn the camcorder on.

2. Make sure that it is in Camera or Recording Mode. Shutter Speed, like many recording settings, cannot be manipulated in VCR or Playback Mode.

3. Access the camcorder's menu and access the icons for exposure settings.

4. Access the settings screen that allows you to adjust shutter speed.

5. The shutter speed can be set to any number of fractions. The larger fractions will have smaller denominators. These larger fractions will expose the imaging sensors to more light, whereas the smaller fractions will expose the sensors to less light.

6. Access the aperture or exposure setting on the camcorder's settings menu. The larger you make the diameter, the more exposure you create.
