Use A Canon Powershot A620 Camera

The Canon PowerShot A620 is a compact digital camera designed to provide advanced photographic capabilities while maintaining ease of use. The A620 features a camera resolution of 7.4 megapixels, 4x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom, video recording capabilities (thirty frames per second), built-in flash, a 2-inch LCD display and Canon's own DIGIC II image processor (for improved image quality). While many of the camera's settings are customizable, new users can leave these set to automatic and still take attractive pictures.

Instructions

1. Examine the battery cover, located underneath the hand grip. Slide the locking mechanism and open the cover. Insert four AA batteries into the battery bay and close the cover.

2. Unlock the memory card cover (located on the side of the hand grip) by sliding it towards the rear of the camera. Open the cover and insert the memory card into the card slot. Close the memory card cover and slide it back into the locked position.

3. Open the LCD monitor (located on the rear of the camera). Rotate the monitor until the display faces outwards. Close the monitor.

4. Press the power button (located on top of the camera). Input the desired display language and current date and time using the navigation arrows and the "Func./Set" button (located to the right of the LCD display).

5. Set the menu switch (located near the upper right corner of the LCD display) to the camera icon; this will set the camera to shooting mode. Set the mode dial (located above the hand grip) to "Auto."

6. Stand facing your subject, with your legs shoulder-width apart, one foot slightly ahead of the other. Hold the camera with one hand on the hand grip and the other supporting the device's weight. Tuck one elbow against your body; this stance will increase stability while shooting.

7. Apply light pressure to the shutter button (located above the hand grip). Wait for the camera to beep twice (the indicator lights above the LCD should also turn green at this time); this indicates that your image is in focus. Push the shutter button all the way down to finish taking your picture.
