Use A Flip Camera In Powerpoint

Include home movies to give a personal touch to your PowerPoint presentations.

You can use video captured with your Flip camera in a PowerPoint presentation if you first export the files to your computer. You can then insert the video into your PowerPoint presentation. Flip provides the FlipShare software that allows you to connect your camera and export the video to your computer's hard drive. The videos are saved in the MP4 format on your computer, so you'll need the free Quicktime software to allow PowerPoint to play the video files.

Instructions

1. Connect your Flip camera to your computer using the USB cable that came with the camera. Open the FlipShare software. Click on the folder in the "Library" section containing the video that you want to use.

2. Click to select the videos that you want to export. Hold down Ctrl to select multiple videos, or click the "All" button to export every video in the folder.

3. Right-click one of the selected videos and select "Export to." Click the "Export" button, then go to the location on your hard drive where you want to save the video files. Click "OK."

4. Open PowerPoint. Click on the "Insert" tab. Click "Video" and go to the place on your hard drive where you saved the Flip videos. Click to select a video. Click "Insert."

5. Press the Ctrl and S keys to save the PowerPoint file.
