Repair The Sony Cfd S250

There are several performance problems you may come across when using a Sony CFD S250 stereo receiver. Some of these include the device not powering on, poor radio reception and CDs not playing. Depending on the type of problem you encounter, there are several options available to you to try and fix the receiver yourself.

Instructions

No Power

1. Remove the battery cover from the back of the player and check if the batteries are inserted correctly. If not, remove the batteries and reinsert them correctly.

2. Remove the battery cover from the back of the player and remove the batteries. Replace them with new batteries.

3. Turn the player on with the power button on the player itself while running it on batteries. The remote cannot be used to turn the player on when it is running on batteries.

Poor Radio Reception

4. Adjust the antenna until reception becomes clear.

5. Remove the current batteries and replace them with new ones.

6. Move the player away from electrical equipment (such as a television) that may be interfering with reception.

CDs Do Not Play

7. Clean the CD, as a dirty or scratched CD might not play. Take a soft, lint-free cloth and gently rub it from the center of the CD (along the shiny surface side of the CD) to the outer edge of the CD. Do not rub in a circular motion, as you risk damaging the CD.

8. Take the CD out of the CD compartment and leave the CD compartment open for about an hour. This helps dry moisture condensation.

9. Replace the current batteries with new ones.
