Clean The Print Head On A Canon I850

A partially clogged print head will cause print quality problems.

The Canon I850 uses ink jet technology to spray liquid ink onto paper as it passes through the printer. The ink is sprayed in tiny droplets through a print head, which contains numerous nozzles. Over time, ink droplets can dry in the print head, causing problems with the printer's print quality. A partially clogged print head will cause splotchy text or images, since some of the ink droplets going through the printer's nozzles are blocked from reaching their destination. The I850 is able to clean the print head automatically, returning the print quality to normal.

Instructions

1. Turn on the Canon I850 and allow it to finish its startup process.

2. Press and hold down the "Resume" button on the top of the printer. The power button will start to blink and the printer will make noise as it cleans the print head.

3. Release the "Resume" button and wait for the cleaning process to finish. Try printing a document with the printer to see whether the print head has been completely cleaned. If there are still problems with the print quality, perform another print head cleaning.
