Get Out Of A Mobile Phone Contract

People often sign a mobile phone contract not realizing how difficult it may be to stick with the same provider for two years. Many people unknowingly extend their contracts whenever they want to switch service plans or upgrade their equipment. Luckily, there are ways that you can get out of an unwanted contract and break free of your mobile phone provider.

Instructions

1. Pay to get out of your contract. All providers offer this option, which can be found within your contract and is usually listed as an "early termination fee." You will need to decide whether the cost of this fee is worth ending your contract early. This fee is usually around a few hundred dollars, a small price to pay if you still have a year or more left on your contract.

2. Find someone else to take over your contract. You can first try asking friends and family but, if that doesn't work, you can advertise your phone on a call-swapping website. These sites bring together those who have unwanted plans and those who need a plan with extra perks, which you may have to offer in order to get someone to take over your contract.

3. Wait for your contract to end. This may be your only other option if you don't want to pay the early termination fee and you can't find anyone else to take over your contract.
