Recover Pictures From A Camera

An xD memory card, often used in digital cameras.

Accidentally deleting photos from a digital camera does not necessarily mean the data is lost. Images that have been deleted from a digital camera's internal memory or memory card can be recovered using free software on your PC.

Instructions

Recovering Deleted Files

1. A notebook connected to a digital camera via USB.

Connect your digital camera or memory card reader to your PC.

2. A card reader and attached Compact Flash card.

Turn on your camera or insert your memory card so that the computer recognises the device as a removable drive.

3. Download and install file recovery software. Recuva is a freeware recovery tool for Microsoft Windows available for download at http://www.piriform.com/recuva.

4. Recover your images by scanning the attached camera or memory card with Recuva, or similar tool.

5. Safely save and export any recovered images and disconnect your camera or memory card.
