Fix Stuck Keys For The Palm Treo 750

A stuck key on your Treo 750 keypad can be a huge inconvenience if you spend a lot of time on the unit. The keypad itself is a single component and the problem could be that it isn't fitting in the phone housing properly. You can solve this issue by opening up the Treo and adjusting the keypad.

Instructions

1. Turn off your Treo 750 and turn the unit over. Remove the battery door and lift the battery out of its compartment.

2. Remove the six screws from the sides and corners of the back of the Treo.

3. Pry the back panel off of the Treo and disconnect the thin microphone cable that runs from the motherboard in the front half of the unit to a port in the back panel. Set the back panel aside.

4. Unplug the two orange cables from ports on the top of the motherboard. The smaller of the orange cables is the keypad cable.

5. Remove the screws from the motherboard and remove the motherboard. The back of the screen, as well as the back of the keypad, will now be visible in the housing.

6. Remove the screws on the back of the keypad.

7. Adjust the whole keypad so it sits flush in the compartment. This should fix any stuck keys. However, if your Treo keypad is damaged beyond repair, remove it and fit a new keypad in its place. Reverse the steps for reassembly.
