How Reactivate My Cingular Go Phone

GoPhones allow customers to pay only for the minutes they use.

Cingular Wireless was a company formed in 2001 by the American Landline Telephone Companies (AT&T) and BellSouth. In 2005 Cingular Wireless and BellSouth amalgamated with AT&T and began operating as one of the largest cellular providers in the United States. AT&T's GoPhone is a prepaid cell phone that allows customers to pay for minutes as required, while not being subject to credit checks and contracts. Following a few simple can help you reactivate your GoPhone.

Instructions

1. Obtain your GoPhone's SIM card. When you originally purchased your GoPhone you would have been provided with a credit-card-sized plastic card that contains an identification number. If you are reactivating a previous Cingular phone the SIM card should be located beneath the battery. It is essential to find this information before contacting the AT&T customer service department.

2. Contact AT&T. Visit AT&T's website or call its customer service department to start the process of reactivating your GoPhone.

3. Locate your SIM card's number. The Internet website or customer service department will ask you to relay your SIM card's identification number. The SIM card number will always start with the numbers "89" and will contain 20 numbers altogether.

4. Refill your minutes. Click on the website's link that is titled "Add Money/Feature Now." This will allow you to add money to your account in real time, which in turn will allow you to begin making calls and sending and receiving text messages.

If you are communicating on the telephone with AT&T's customer service department, inform them of how much money you would like to add to your card.

When performing this step, a debit or credit card is required to complete your transaction.
