Turn On The Microphone On An Itouch

Apple's iPod Touch--sometimes referred to informally as the iTouch--is a portable media player. It can be used to play music, store files or--if you have the right software--make phone calls. While the iPod Touch does not come equipped with a built-in microphone, you can purchase Apple headphones that come equipped with both headphones and microphone, allowing you to use your iTouch as a phone. To do this, you will need to turn on the microphone.

Instructions

1. Insert the male connector into the headphone jack on your iPod iTouch. The male connector is the piece that has a metal rod sticking out that is received by the female connector, in this case the headphone jack. This will create a physical connection between your headphones and your iPod Touch.

2. Push the male connector into your iTouch's headphone jack until you hear a click. This will confirm that the connection is made between your microphone and your iTouch.

3. Start whatever program it is you are using a microphone for. You don't need to turn your microphone on as it is automatically started as soon as the connection is made between your iTouch and the connector.
