Record From A Tape Deck

Although most home audio systems are based around CDs and MP3 players, some equipment still does come with one or two tape decks installed. With the tape decks you can listen to older music you have not yet upgraded, or you can even record content onto blank tapes via the tape decks. This can be helpful if there is something on the radio you want to record, or you want to record something using a microphone that is connected to the tape deck. Whatever the reason is you can record content using the tape deck.

Instructions

1. Power on the stereo system or whatever other device you have controlling the tape deck.

2. Set the stereo system to play whatever it is you want to record. For example, if you want to record something off of an FM radio station press the "FM" button on the stereo device. However, if you are recording an outside source you need to press the "Aux" button.

3. Insert the blank tape into the tape deck. Make sure it is at the start position by pressing the "Rewind" button. If the tape does not rewind you know you have the tape on the correct side.

4. Press down the "Play" and "Record" buttons at the same time. This is going to initiate the tape recording process.

5. Press the "Stop" button to cease the audio recording. Press the "Rewind" button to rewind back to the beginning of the tape. Push the "Tape Deck" button to switch the audio playback to the tapes decks, and finally press "Play" to listen to what you recorded.
