Sending a card lets others know you care; e-cards make that easy.
Whether it's to celebrate the holidays, offer condolences or congratulate a recent graduate, sending an e-card is a wonderful way to convey your message, especially if your recipient is technologically savvy. While e-cards may not be appropriate for formal circumstances, they are quite acceptable among friends and family, and they can save you the hassle of driving to your local gift shop. However, some websites charge a fee to send an e-card, and they may not offer exactly what you want to send. If that's the case, you can easily make your own e-card using PowerPoint and PPT2Flash software.
Instructions
1. Gather the media that you wish to use in your e-card. This may include pictures on your hard drive, your favorite song, a recorded greeting or your own video.
2. Designate the layout of your slides by choosing a template or creating your own. Try to coordinate the colors of the template with the colors in the media your selected to establish a more unified quality in your card.
3. Design your initial slide by inserting the media that you want to appear first. If you wish to have a song to play throughout the slideshow, select "Movies and Sounds" from the Insert Menu, then select the appropriate type of sound source and, finally, select the sound file that you wish to play. Drag the sound icon off of the slide, and choose to have the sound play automatically.
4. Continue to design your subsequent slides in a similar fashion. Choose your transition effects, which can be different for each slide.
5. Click the "Publish" button in your PPT2Flash software to convert your PowerPoint presentation to a Flash e-card.
6. Send your e-card through email or post it on a website to share it.
