Transforming wired speakers into wireless speakers that you can place almost anywhere in your home requires the quick installation of a transmitter kit available at most electronics stores that deal in home audio equipment. Although there are still some wires for making connections, the kits allow speakers to operate with much less wire than would normally be needed for home theater use.
Instructions
1. Connect the wireless transmitter to your receiver or amplifier speaker connections via the cables included with the kit. Most wireless conversion kits include one transmitter that can manage two stereo speakers.
2. Plug in the wireless transmitter's AC adapter into an electrical outlet or power strip.
3. Connect the speakers to the wireless receiver using shorter lengths of audio cable. With some kits, you will connect two speakers to one wireless receiver, which is plugged into an electrical outlet for power. Other kits come with individual receivers for each speaker.
4. Plug all wireless receivers into a power supply.
5. Turn on the amplifier or home theater receiver and play an audio source to test the operation of the new wireless system.
