Whirled is an online gaming website created by Three Rings Design that lets users play games, create avatars, buy and decorate homes, and join player chat and interactive gaming. The user-generated gaming platform also offers tools for building uploading games for others to play. Once a game has been created using tools and software available on the site, it is uploaded and product tested. Production testing of a newly created is a fairly straightforward process.
Instructions
1. Open the Internet Web browser and navigate to the Whirled website (see Resource).
2. Log in to an existing account by typing in your email address and password in the appropriate fields. If you are a new user, enter an email address, a password and select your age from the pull-down menu.
3. Select "My Games" under the "Games" tab once logged in and then click on the "Create" button. This will bring the user to the upload interface.
4. Select the game type, and then type in a name for the game in the "Game Name" field.
5. Select the browse button under the "Client Code" option, and then select the game to be uploaded, which will have an .SWF file extension. Click the "Save" button once the game has uploaded. This will bring you to the "Edit Game" interface.
6. Click on the "Launchers" and then click the "Create" button. When the new box pops up, fill in the name of your game.
7. Click on the "Edit Your Room" tab, and then add the game launcher to the room as a piece of furniture. Click on the launcher and then select the "Test" tab to test the new game. If there are bugs in the game, the system will make necessary adjustments or prompt you to download applications built into the platform to repair the game.
