Before you can use your cellphone with your Michelin global positioning system, you must go through a process called pairing. Pairing connects the two devices by exchanging passkeys using Bluetooth. It allows the Michelin GPS to identify your phone from all of the other Bluetooth devices in the area. The pairing process usually takes less than a minute.
Instructions
1. Activate Bluetooth on your cellphone. Most phones have the Bluetooth option under "Settings." Some phones have the Bluetooth in a sub-menu called "Connections" or "Wireless." Refer to your phone's manual for specific instructions.
2. Tap "Before You Set Off" from the main menu of your Michelin GPS, and select "Telephone."
3. Touch "Telephone Options," and tap "Activate Bluetooth."
4. Tap "Connect Telephone" to search for Bluetooth devices.
5. Touch "Add," and select your cellphone from the list of devices. The GPS will display a prompt asking you to enter 1234 on the device. Touch "OK" to confirm, and enter "1234" on your phone if prompted. The GPS will ask if you want to make the phone the default.
6. Select "Yes" to make the phone the default. Touch "No" to use a different phone as the default. Click "OK" when the Connection successful screen appears.
