The Boss BV8.5 is a car video player that allows you to watch your favorite movies and TV shows, as well as listen to music, on-the-go. With its 8.5-inch LCD screen, it supports DVD-R discs and MP3 audio. Your roof-mountable video player may run into problems that may interfere with the video and audio signals. Troubleshoot these problems to improve performance and possibly increase the player's lifespan.
Instructions
1. Check the power button and make sure it's in the "ON" position if you can't see images or hear anything. Check the video and audio cables, making sure they are properly and tightly connected. For example, if you're using RCA cables, make sure the yellow pin is connected to the video input, and the red and white pins are connected to the audio inputs.
2. Insert your disc properly with the label facing upward. If the disc is pausing momentarily during playback, remove it and inspect it for dirt and fingerprints. If the disc is dirty, clean it with a soft, clean cloth. If the disc is cracked, you must replace it.
3. Power off your unit for at least an hour if it has moisture inside. If the device is not working well, disconnect the power cord for a few seconds, then plug it back into the power source to reset it.
4. Remove obstacles from the path between your unit and the remote control if it's not working properly. If the remote control isn't working well, open the battery compartment and replace the batteries.
5. Press the "Menu" button and select the "Parental Controls" if you're unable to play certain discs that contain parental control information. Adjust the levels on the Parental Control feature to accommodate the disc you want to play.
6. Press the "Menu" button and select "Brightness" or "Contrast" if the images are too dark or too light. Press the "+" or "-" buttons to increase or decrease the levels. Select "Color" if the images are desaturated, and increase the level to your preference.
