Reduce The Size Of A Digital Image







Decrease the file size of your digital photos.


Image editing programs allow you to modify the content in your pictures. Microsoft Paint is an application that is is available for all Windows users. If you have a picture that has a large file size, use Paint to decrease its size. Paint also allows you to modify the dimensions picture. This application also gives you the option to save the picture to different file types.


Instructions


1. Open Microsoft Paint. Open the "Start" menu. Click "All Programs" and select "Paint."


2. Navigate to the top of the Window, click the "Paint" button, and click "Open." Choose an image you want to resize and click "Open." Check the status bar to see the current dimensions and size of the picture.


3. Go to the "Home" tab. In the "Image" group, click "Resize."


4. Resize the picture by percentage or pixels. Enter lower values to decrease dimensions of the picture and click "OK."








5. Click "Maintain Aspect Ratio." This allows the picture to maintain its original aspect ratio.


6. Click the "Paint" button and select "Save As." Select a picture file type. Enter a name for your picture and click "Save."
