Professional Tutorial For Macromedia Flash 8







Learn Flash 8.








Macromedia Flash 8 is a popular application used for creating custom presentations and animations. You can create an audio/video animation for emailing to your friends or a start-up banner for a website. Whatever your objective, getting comfortable with the Flash interface will give you greater advantage toward communicating your ideas through multimedia.


InstructionsNew" menu items. Choose one of the options for "Flash File." Build a movie using tools, menus and options available in Flash. The following animated text example will help you familiarize yourself with the interface.


2. Click the "Size" button of the Properties panel to change the project size to 600 pixels x 150 pixels. Type "30" in the "Frame rate" field. Click the "Background" button, and select a dark blue color. Save the file as "anitext.fla."


3. Type "Best Products" onto the stage using the text tool from the Tools panel. Drag the text box to the left, outside the stage. Set the text color to yellow using the Properties panel.


4. Click in frame 90 of the timeline and create a keyframe by pressing "F6." Remaining in this frame, drag the text box to the right side of the stage. Click in the first frame, and press the Properties "Tween" button. Set this value to "Motion."


5. Test the movie by pressing "Ctrl" and "Enter." The text comes onto the screen from the left and ends at the right. It continues to loop. Flash enables you to further control the animation through its scripting language, ActionScript. To make the text stop once it reaches the end, make sure you are still in the last frame and perform the next step.


6. Press "F9" to open the Actions window. Enter the following:


stop();


Test your movie again. The text goes to the right and stops.
