Troubleshoot A Kodak Digital Photo Frame

Digital picture frames can rotate through sets of pictures like a slide show.

Digital photo frames are LCD screens inside picture frames. These frames can display digital photos from an array of storage devices. When your Kodak digital picture frame is not functioning properly, troubleshooting the frame can help you find and fix the problem.

Instructions

1. Check the power cord and make sure the frame is receiving power. Make sure the power cord fits tightly in the port on the frame and that nothing is pulling or adding tension to the cord.

Push down on the button for 30 seconds, with the power cord plugged in and the frame on. If the button does not respond, the button is faulty and you will need to contact Kodak.

2. Fix any problems with the card slots. Make sure the slot you are using is the correct slot for the card. Insert the card with the connection pins facing the frame. Press the card in until it stops.

If a card becomes stuck in a slot, turn the frame so that the card slot is on top. Hold the frame with a firm grip and pull upward on the card.

3. Identify any problems with the frame's joints. It is normal to have some looseness in the frame joints. This allows the frame to rotate for the best display. If the frame is too loose, tighten the screws slightly. If the frame can not be tightened or if the frame falls off its stand, contact Kodak.

4. Fix the bezel. The bezel is the wooden part of the frame around the LCD screen. If the bezel is loose, line up the LCD and the back of the frame, then grab the bezel on both sides and press firmly toward the back. If this does not help, turn off the frame and unplug the power cord. Lay the frame upside down and press down on the tabs in the bezel. With the tabs pressed down, push the tabs away from the bezel. Remove the bezel from the LCD screen gently. Put the bezel back on the LCD and align the screen. Press down on the bezel until it clicks.

5. Investigate any random time resets and power-offs. Check for power surges, and make sure the frame is not plugged into a power supply or a plug that is turned off.

Turn off the power to the frame and unplug the power cord. Try the frame in another outlet. Turn the frame on by pushing the "Pictures/ channel" button.

6. Fix any black lines in the picture display. Turn the frame off and unplug it from the power supply. Plug the frame into another outlet. If the lines are still present, change the settings in the frame. If the lines are still present, the screen is faulty; contact Kodak for assistance.
