HVAC recovery units clean and recycle refrigerant fluid. The HVAC recovery device connects to the coolant system via a hose and pumps the coolant into the recovery unit. The refrigerant is then purified and all hazardous gases are captured. By law refrigerant fluid must be recovered before it is removed, as R12 and R134a can damage the environment.
Instructions
1. Connect the input hose to the designated port on the refrigerant container. The input hose fits around the input port and tightens via a metal clamp that fits around the hose.
2. Connect the output hose to the refrigerant container by fitting it around the output port. The hose is secured with a metal hose clamp. If your recovery unit does not recycle disregard this step and proceed to step 3.
3. Plug the recovery unit into an available wall outlet and turn it on. The HVAC recovery unit will begin to pump refrigerant out of the container and strip it of harmful gases.
4. Check the oil cup on the recovery unit and note how much oil was captured. The oil cup is located on the side of the recovery unit. You can determine how much oil has been drained by looking at the volume measurements labeled on the cup.
5. Drain the recovery unit of the now clean refrigerant by unscrewing the reservoir lid and pouring it out.
