Citizen's Band radios implement an array of features and capabilities to help radio users and talk groups communicate with one another, employing various filtering elements and power amplification features to help you get the strongest possible signal. The Alinco DR-635T's beefy list of features may seem a bit excessive at first. But with a little orientation, you can make vital adjustments to your radio and get the most out of CB.
Instructions
1. Adjust your radio's squelch, the noise gate used to keep static down on inactive frequencies, by pressing the "SQL" button. Use the volume control to raise or lower the amount of squelch. You can press the "Band" button to adjust the sub's squelch or press any other button to exit the squelch configuration mode.
2. Adjust your frequencies in small increments using VFO (Variable Frequency Oscillator) mode. Press the "V/M" mode if your DR-635T displays an "M" or a "C." Use utility dial to change frequencies -- you can press the "MHz" button to change frequencies in 1 MHz increments.
3. Adjust your DT-635T's power using the "H/L" button to toggle between between low, medium and high power. "Lo" or "Mid" will appear over the frequency on the display when the radio is in low and medium power modes respectively -- there is no indicator for high power.
4. Use the "Parameters" menu to adjust alerts, display setting and scan methods. Press and hold the "Func" button for a few seconds. Use the "Func" and "SQL" button to navigate the Parameters menu and highlight a menu option.
5. Use the utility to toggle between settings of the select menu option. For example, if you select the "Bell" option, you can rotate the utility dial to toggle between the "Bell Off" and "Bell On" settings.
