A Navman is a Global Positioning System (GPS) device designed to help you drive from place to place. You can mount it inside your vehicle, input a destination, and it will show you the route to your desired location. It does this by connecting to GPS satellites to pinpoint your current location.
Installation
The Navman comes with a mount that you can place on your windshield. Follow the directions included with your Navman to install the mount correctly. Remember to position the mount in a place where it will not block the driver's view of the road or be in the way of possible airbag deployment. Install the mount, then follow the directions to place the Navman on the mount. After the Navman is in place, use the provided power cord to connect the Navman to the outlet inside your vehicle. You can now power on your Navman.
Setup
The first thing you will see is the Language screen. Tap on your preferred language to select it. If you wish to prevent the language selection screen from showing on each start-up, uncheck the box. Next is the Safety Agreement screen. After reading the message, tap "Accept" to continue. The built-in tutorial will now display on the Navman. You can move through the tutorial by tapping the left and right arrows. If you do not wish the tutorial to appear on each start-up, uncheck the box. When finished with the tutorial, you will see the 3D Map screen. Your current location will show if you currently have a GPS fix.
Basic Use
To set a destination, first access the main menu by tapping the "Menu" icon or the status bar on the bottom of the screen. Open the Destination Search screen. Select the country, then input the city/area using the on-screen keyboard. Tap "Street Address," enter the street name, and then enter the number of the location. Tap the green icon, and the 3D Map screen will show. The Navman will now guide you as your drive to the location. You can also search for points of interest (POI), such as landmarks or public venues, even if you do not know the address, by searching for a POI after entering the country and city/area. You can save a location as your home or as a favorite after entering in the address. You will then be able to quickly choose these locations from the Favorite Destinations icon in the main menu.
