Learning set up and properly use a Belkin TuneBase FM receiver is a fairly straightforward task that should only take a few minutes to complete successfully. Belkin TuneBase FM is a device that allows users to play an iPod through the speakers of a vehicle using the radio signals. While connecting this device to a vehicle may sound like a difficult task, it is actually quite simple with the proper instructions.
Instructions
1. Connect the Belkin TuneBase FM receiver by plugging it into an available cigarette lighter port in the vehicle. When the device is connected properly, an LED light will illuminate on the front side. Slide the iPod into the form fitting holster located on the front of the receiver. If you are using the iPod/iPhone version of the TuneBase FM, you must slide the sleeve that holds the device in place into the cradle before inserting your iPod or iPhone.
2. Tune the radio dial to an FM station with a weak signal. The instruction manual provides a list of radio channels that work in most areas, however the station will not always be the same everywhere. In the event that an instruction manual is not immediately available, the Belkin Tunebase FM has a button on the front of the device marked "ClearScan." This button will scan the radio stations and find a suitable station for the device to work properly. If there is static on the station that the "ClearScan" function finds, simply press the button again to search for a different station.
3. Use the up and down arrows on the device to match the station that was chosen on the radio. Once the stations match, the receiver will pick up the signal and allow the device to play songs through the radio. Select a song on the iPod to test functionality and ensure that the connection is working properly.
