With a Slingbox, you can watch the same television programming that you receive at home by using your phone or a computer. There are three different Slingbox models from which you can choose, depending on the video sources that you have at home.

Decide which Slingbox Model is Right for You
1. Decide which video sources you want to be able to view using your Slingbox. You can use a Slingbox to watch cable broadcasts, satellite television, DVRs and high definition (HD) sources. The Slingbox Tuner and Slingbox AV models will only allow you to connect a single video source to them, while the Slingbox Pro can accommodate up to four video sources.
2. Determine whether you need a coaxial cable connection on your Slingbox. If you directly connect the coaxial cable from your wall to your television to receive your cable, you are using a coaxial connection. The Slingbox Tuner only includes a coaxial cable connection and will let you watch your basic cable over the Internet.
3. Decide whether or not you want to connect an HD video source to your Slingbox. HD video sources can include HD-DVD players, Blu-ray players and HD cable broadcasts. The Slingbox Pro is the only model that can accommodate HD video sources, using the optional HD Connect Cable.
Find Retailers that Carry Different Slingbox Models
4. Search the Slingware website for stores in your area that sell Slingbox models (see Resources below).
5. Compare the prices of the Slingbox model that you are interested in from the local brick-and-mortar shop with the prices available from online retailers. If you are willing to wait a few days, this may allow you to save money when you shop for a Slingbox.
