Buy A Whistler Radar Detector

The Whistler Group aims to provide drivers with quality radar detection without making them pay the equivalent of three speeding tickets to get it. Currently the Whistler Group produces two high-quality radar detectors that are on the market: Whistler XTR-690 and Whistler Pro-78. Both do equally well alerting you to police radar and their laser systems.

Instructions

1. Purchase your Whistler Radar detector from a valid Whistler retailer. If the retailer hasn't been authorized by the Whistler Group, Whistler won't honor the warranty if something goes wrong with your radar-detection system.

2. Know that both models pick up XK and KA radar and they have the option of alerting you to POP radar and the highway-safety alert system. Those are just a few of the special features the detectors provide.

3. Understand the difference between the XTR-690 and the Pro-78. Both are quality devices, but the Pro-78 is a bit more expensive. The Pro-78 features an LED screen that's easy to read in all light, while the XTR-690 has a harder-to-read LCD display. Otherwise both include almost all the same features and work equally well.

4. Prepare to pay about $170 to $180 for your Whistler Radar Detector. Adding extra accessories, like an Intellicord adapter or an anti-slip dash mount, will drive up the cost. The Pro-78 does include the dash mount, and both have a power cable.

5. Learn about the programmable features. The Whistler detectors have a battery-save mode, a driver attentiveness test and an alerting system.
