Connect An Xm Receiver To An Oem Antenna

An XM satellite radio receiver connects to the original equipment manufacturer antenna using an adapter kit called SureConnect and available from XM. OEM simply means the original parts built by the manufacturer that came with your equipment. The connection kit is designed to work with virtually all antennas using a pre-wired clip that fastens to the base of the existing antenna. The connection should take less than 20 minutes.

Instructions

1. Uncoil the pre-wired Sure-Connect coupling system, which has a connector plug on one end and a round clip with a slot in the side on the other end.

2. Line up the slot on the clip with the base of the antenna and push the clip onto the antenna. Slide the clip to the bottom of the antenna.

3. Wrap the antenna just above the clip with the supplied sticky cable wrap. This helps secure the clip and XM wire to the antenna.

4. Fit the locking boot over the top of the antenna and slide it down to push onto the clip installed at the antenna base.

5. Push the plug on the other end of the cable into the antenna jack on the XM Satellite cradle.
