Choose An Amp Size

Amps come in all shapes and sizes and they're designed differently for your special needs. There are acoustic amps, bass amps, small bedroom practice amps, combo amps and many more. Take some time to research exactly what kind of amp you need. And you also need to consider the size of the amp you want to purchase.

Instructions

1. Set aside storage space for your amp, and then see how much room you have for it. Amps come in various sizes and weights. To determine the right size for you, you should first know how much room you have.

2. Examine where you'll store your amp. Cold and damp environments like garages or basements are ideal conditions for your amp. It's better to choose a smaller amp that fits inside your house than to buy a large amp that can't be stored properly.

3. Consider how you'll use the amp and if it will travel with you. If you need to carry the amp with you on a rehearsal or gig, you may want to opt for an amp that's more compact and weighs less. However, if the amp will be stationary, this won't be an issue.

4. Determine how much power you need. That will depend on what you're using your amp for and how loud you want to be able to play. But remember that a high output doesn't always mean it's a high quality of sound. And you can get good sound quality even in a small amp. But sometimes, you might have to pay more for that.
