Adjust The Picture On An Rca Projection Tv

RCA projection TVs are extremely sophisticated pieces of equipment, with a number of different features designed to enhance your viewing pleasure. The sheer volume of options can make one of the most basic features--adjusting the picture--a little intimidating. RCA has actually made the process simple, provided you know access the proper menu. Once you do, the various picture controls are extremely easy to adjust, and you can then shift the picture to provide optimal video quality for your surroundings.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu" button on the remote. Click "Picture." This accesses the various picture options, which you can scroll through and adjust using the arrow keys.

2. Click through the "Picture Presets" setting to access a series of specialized picture settings to match your viewing experience. They're set to provide optimal viewing for movies, sports programs, basic (or "ideal" settings) and even a video camera option for watching home movies. If you don't wish to use any of these settings, click "Personal." The RCA projection TV will be automatically set to "Personal" any time you adjust any of the other controls.

3. Adjust the "Black Level" settings to raise or lower the brightness of the picture.

4. Tweak the "Color" settings to increase or decrease the color saturation. The highest setting will provide a highly oversaturated look, while the lowest setting will render the picture in black and white.

5. Move the arrow on the "Contrast" bar to increase or decrease the differences between bright colors and dark colors.

6. Adjust "Sharpness" to make the picture lines crisper and more well-defined. This is especially important if you intend to watch programs broadcast in high definition.

7. Move the "Color Warmth" setting to one of the three preset modes--"Cool," "Normal" and "Warm"-- which make the picture bluer or redder, depending upon the setting.

8. Select "Tint" to alter the overall picture tint. At one extreme, the image will look extremely green; at the other, it will look extremely red.

9. Exit the "Picture Presets" menu when you are done adjusting all the picture settings.

10. Use the "Zoom" button on your remote control to cycle through the RCA projection TV's aspect ratio settings. Some shows and movies are broadcast in 4:3 ratio, which is close to a square. (These shows may feature black bars on either side of the screen.) Others are broadcast in 16:9 or widescreen ratio, taking full advantage of your RCA projection TV's screen. The "Zoom" button lets you move through these settings to best match the program you are currently watching.
