Replace The Battery In A Magellan 4250

The Magellan Maestro 4250 GPS navigation device is designed to guide drivers to their destinations by helping them navigate through city streets, country roads and highways. The battery in the Maestro 4250 is built to last for several years before it needs replacing. Until that time, the battery can be recharged by connecting the device to any power supply. If the battery has fully emptied and cannot be recharged, it is possible to change the battery yourself.

Instructions

1. Pull off the four rubber caps on the back of the 4250, revealing four screws. Remove these four screws.

2. Use the pry tool that came with the battery to pry the front of the 4250 off. Pry the plastic container up, and disconnect the ribbon cable inside.

3. Unscrew the two screws that are holding down the circuit board, and then lift the circuit board carefully and remove it from the device.

4. Remove the discharged battery, and insert the new one. Place the circuit board back in its place, and screw the two screws back in.

5. Replace the front cover, and close the case. Re-insert the four screws and replace the four rubber caps.

6. Charge the 4250's new battery for at least four hours before using it.
