Connect An Olympus Voice Recorder To A Computer

Olympus is an electronics company that produces a wide range of electronic equipment, including digital voice recorders. These devices are helpful in meetings and other events where you are unable to take notes, or if you need a specific sound bite. Once recorded, the device connects directly to a computer, allowing you to import the captured audio to the system.

Instructions

1. Connect the USB data cable into a USB port on the Olympus voice recorder.

2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on the computer system. Some Olympus voice recorders have a built-in USB jack that plugs directly into a USB port on the computer, saving you from hooking up the USB cable between the two devices.

3. Power on the Olympus voice recorder. The computer states it has detected a new, removable device.

4. Click "Start," "(My) Computer" then double-click the removable device icon. A window loads onto the screen with all of the files stored on the Olympus voice recorder.

5. Click and drag the recorded audio files stored on the recorder onto the desktop or any other location on the computer. This copies and downloads the recorded files onto the computer.
