Save A Picture From A Digital Memory Card To A Pc

Memory cards allow you to save and store pictures. They are widely used in today's digital cameras. Once you store captured images on your memory card, you can upload them to your PC. This allows you to share them with family and friends using email, social networks and photo-sharing networks. You can also upload pictures to photo programs and create slide shows. Uploading pictures from your digital memory card to your PC is simple.

Instructions

1. Insert your memory card in the card slot on your computer. If your computer does not have a built-in card reader, insert the card in the memory card slot on your digital camera, and then connect your camera to your computer using a USB cable.

2. Double-click "Computer" on the desktop, locate your card's removal disk icon in the "Drives" section and double-click it. A new window launches.

3. Double-click the "DCIM," "My Images," or "My Pictures" folder, depending on your card. You should see the images on your memory card.

4. Drag the images from your memory card to the location on your computer where you want to store them.

5. Close your memory card's window. Click the "Safely remove hardware" icon on the taskbar. Click your memory card's removal disk in the "Hardware" window that launches and click "Stop." Disconnect your memory card or digital camera from your computer.
