Remove The Radio In A 2003 Corvette

If you want to replace the stereo in your 2003 Chevrolet Corvette, you have to remove the old stereo first. Removing the stereo yourself is tricky, but cheaper than paying a professional to do it.Once you have the old stereo removed, installing a new stereo is easy.

Instructions

1. Pop the hood on your Corvette and remove the black battery cable from the car's battery. Use pliers to loosen the retaining nut and slide the cable off of the battery terminal.

2. Pop the ashtray out of the center console inside the car. Remove the single screw behind the ashtray.

3. Remove the small plastic panel to the left of the ignition. You can just pry it off with your fingers, but if you are having difficulty, use a flat head screwdriver. Remove the screw behind the panel.

4. Pry up and remove the passenger airbag light panel, located next to the parking brake. Unplug the cables from the panel. Remove the 10mm bolts underneath the panel. Lift up the center compartment and remove the screws located in the compartment.

5. Pry up the center console trim panel and remove it. The trim panel is clipped into place by retaining clips, so start at the top and pry the panel out to disengage the clips.

6. Remove the 9/32 inch bolts holding the stereo in place. Slide the stereo out of the dashboard and disconnect the cables from the back of the stereo.
