Track Kids' Cell Phones With Gps

Maybe you are concerned that your children may be playing hooky from school. Perhaps you just want to make sure that they are safe. Whatever the case, if you want to keep track of your kids, short of keeping them on a leash, the easiest way is to install GPS trackers on their cell phones.

Instructions

1. Choose a GPS service that suits your needs. A few that you might consider are AT&T Family Map, Sprint Family Locator and Google Maps for Mobile. (See Resources.) As of 2010, these services cost between nothing and $9.99 per month.

2. Try Google Maps for Mobile. The advantage of this application is of course that it is free. Using Google's Latitude program, you can track your kids and other family members. The updates are in real time, and you can also use it as a full-blown navigational GPS that will give you turn-by-turn audio directions.

3. Try Sprint Family Locator. The advantage here is that if you have a Sprint phone, there is no software to install. Also, you can receive e-mail and text updates as to the whereabouts of your kids at regular intervals or when they've arrived at a specific place such as school or home.

4. Try AT&T Family Map. This system works similarly to the Family Locator. You can set up scheduled updates of your kids' whereabouts and know when they've arrived at a certain destination. You can also set up a perimeter that let's you know when they've entered into an area they shouldn't be.
