Connect A Vcr To A Security Camera

With rising crime rates around the world, it is important to have adequate security in place to protect your home or your business. While you of course need a quality alarm system for both the doors and windows, it is also important to have a security camera installed and functioning properly. There are three components to the process; the camera, the VCR you connect it to, and the coaxial cable connecting the two. The process of setting such a system up is fairly straightforward.

Instructions

1. Remove all components from the boxes containing them and cross-check what you find against the included items list to make sure you have everything.

2. Decide where you want to mount you camera. This is an important part of the process, since if you put the camera in the wrong place, you will film everything but the criminal. For example, if you have a small store, make sure the camera is pointed to the space in front of the counter. But also be sure to set the focus wide enough to capture any action just outside of this area as well.

3. Use the hardware supplied with your camera to mount your camera. Now connect it to a power supply. If necessary, add an extension cord.

4. Connect a coaxial cable to your cameras output port, and run this cable discreetly to where you have your VCR. Connect the other end of the cable to the VCRs input port. Now turn on the VCR, set the recording time to EP (Extended Play) and start recording.
