An indoor TV needs an antenna to capture the free television being broadcasted from a television broadcast tower. You can make a powerful TV antenna from a few supplies found around the house, along with a coil of telephone wire and a TV antenna connector purchased from a hardware or electronics store. You do not need any electrical skills, nor will you have to use a soldering iron or any other specialized tool. The coiled wire antenna will gather the TV signal so that free TV looks good, even though it is not costing you anything.
Instructions
1. Strip four inches of the outer insulation off one end of the telephone wire with the blade of the scissors.
2. Strip 1/2 inch of insulation off of all the wires now visible at the end of the telephone wire with the blade of the scissors.
3. Wrap the ends of the wires around each other.
4. Repeat this entire procedure with the other end of the telephone wire.
5. Loosen the two screws on the TV antenna connector with the Phillips-head screwdriver. Wrap one end of the telephone wire around each of the screws on the TV antenna connector. Tighten the screws with the Phillips-head screwdriver.
6. Plug the TV antenna connector into the TV antenna connection on the back of the TV. Stretch out the telephone wire behind, on top of or to the side of the TV. Turn the TV on to ensure the signal is broadcasting.
